Melbourne Airport Parking Rates

Booking airport parking is not too dissimilar from booking your flights. You’ll often find the cheapest prices online, and it pays to be early. Leave it last minute, and you might just find that most of the airport car parks are sold out, and prices have gone through the roof. With that in mind, we’ve collected a wealth of information on Melbourne Airport parking rates, so you can find the best deal possible. This includes the official Melbourne Airport car parks, from the Value Short Stay to the premium Valet Parking Service, as well as a couple of nearby private parking facilities which are often cheaper for longer stays.

Melbourne Airport has five official car parks, including the T1, T2, T3, & T4 Car Parks, the Long Term Car Park, the Value Car Park, the Value Short Stay, and a Valet Parking Service. Rates differ at each car park, dependant on how close it is to the terminals, how long you need the space, and the level of service you’re looking for. As a basic rule of thumb, park and ride car parks are the cheapest and valet parking is the most expensive.

For Melbourne Airport Short Term Parking

If you’re looking for short term parking at Melbourne Airport, your primary options are the Value Short Stay Car Park, and the ‘At Terminal’ Car Parks (T123, & T4). These car parks allow you to book by the hour, for up to 24 hours, which is ideal for those dropping off or picking up passengers. As long as you plan on collecting your car within 48 hours, these options are almost perfect.

For any stay over 30 minutes, the Value Short Stay Car Park offers the best rates. It’s important to note however, that the Value Short Stay Car Park is some distance away from the terminals. The booking price includes a free shuttle bus transfer in both directions, which runs once every 10 minutes. Likewise, you cannot book the Value Short Stay Car Park online to guarantee a space. If you’re travelling during a busy period, like the school holidays, and you’re going to be short on time, it may be worthwhile to consider other options. The last thing you’ll want to be doing is driving from car park to car park, looking for a spot when you have loved ones waiting at Arrivals.

The At Terminal Car Parks make parking quick and straightforward. They’re a good choice for business trips, short getaways, and for those who want to pre-book their parking. At Terminal parking is located opposite the airport terminals, so you'll be able to check in within minutes of arrival. They provide safe, undercover parking, with advanced security measures to provide travellers with peace of mind. The T123 and T4 Car Parks are a little more expensive, at $51.00 for 24 hours and $102.00 for 48 hours. Not the best deal if you prefer to spend more on your flights than your parking, but certainly quick and convenient. We’ve compiled Melbourne Airport’s short term parking rates below:

For Melbourne Airport Long Term Parking

Long term parking is often the best value option for trips of a couple of days in length or more. Melbourne Airport has a dedicated Long Term Car Park, which charges $25.00 for the first 24 hours, and then $49.00 for two days, and $69.00 for three. Travellers that require long stay parking also have the option of using the Value Car Park, although there is little difference between the two. Both are park and ride services, with shuttle bus transfers to the terminals.

The Value Car Park also has exactly the same pricing system as the Long Term Car Park, charging $25.00 for the first day, $49.00 for two days, and $69.00 for three days. The Long Term Car Park and the Value Car Park are cheaper than the At Terminal T123 & T4 Car Parks, and the Premium services, but they are by no means an affordable parking solution if you’re planning a week or two away.

However, if you take a little time to shop around and compare Melbourne Airport parking rates, you’re sure to find a long term parking option that will leave you with more spending money for your travels. We compiled parking rates from two private airport parking providers, to show you just how much you can save on Melbourne Aiport long term parking:

Long-term Melbourne Airport Parking Rates

DurationValue Car ParkLong Term Car ParkBusy BeaverFirst Choice
1 Day$25.00$25.00$18.00$19.00
3 Days$69.00$69.00$39.00$30.00
1 Week$109.00$109.00$79.00$60.00
2 Weeks$149.00$149.00$124.00$100.00
3 Weeks$219.00$219.00$159.00$135.00
4 Weeks$309.00$309.00$204.00$180.00

In all cases, the Melbourne Airport parking rates offered by privately run car parks were considerably cheaper than those offered by the airport itself. For instance, if you’re planning a week long holiday, you could save $49.00 on the cost of your parking by choosing First Choice Airport Parking over the Long Term Car Park. And in many respects the two services are very similar; both operate free shuttle bus transfers to the airport terminals and back.

If you would like to find out more about First Choice or Busy Beaver Airport Parking, just click on their names. This will take you to the individual provider pages, where you can read more about the car parks, from opening times to shuttle pick-up points. From there, you can get a free quote for your holiday dates, and book your parking online.

For Premium Parking Services

If you’re travelling on business, or you simply don’t mind paying extra for a premium experience, Melbourne Airport has Premium Parking spaces available at T123, T4, and the Business Car Park. With Premium Parking, you'll enjoy the best spot in the house, with bays located close to the terminal walkways.

The Business Car Park is located just 50m from the Terminal 1 building, meaning you’ll be at check-in in no time. It’s the quickest self-park option, meaning you’ll have more time to relax before your flight. A 24 hour stay at the Business Car Park will cost you $72.00, which is roughly on par with 24 hours at Premium Parking at T123 ($77.00) and 24 hours at Premium T4 ($61.00). You can find an overview of the rates charged below:

For Valet Parking Services

Melbourne Airport offers its own Valet Parking Service; you simply need to drive up and hand over your keys, and then their trained staff will do the rest. Again, this level of convenience comes at a cost, as rates start at $77.00 for 24 hours and can rise up to $684.00 for two weeks. Travellers using this service have direct access to T1 and T2, which is ideal for Qantas domestic or international flights.

Virgin Australia and Qantas offer their own Premium Valet Parking Services, for similar rates. These services are primarily designed for customers travelling on Virgin Australia and Qantas respectively. Prices for Valet Services are as follows:
