About Launceston Airport

Launceston Airport (LST) is a regional airport on the outskirts of Launceston, Tasmania, approximately 15 kilometres from the city centre. It is the fastest growing airport in the state, and runs curfew free. Over a million passengers transit through Launceston Airport every year, flying to a range of domestic destinations, including Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane.

The Qantas Group is the dominator operator at Launceston Airport, with Jetstar Airways and Virgin Australia each operating between four and six daily flights. Sharp Airlines offers three flights a day to Flinders Island, and two daily flights to King Island, whereas Airlines of Tasmania provide a twice weekly service to Cape Barren Island.

Launceston Airport's passenger numbers have increased dramatically in recent years, after significant redevelopment work. In 2009, the size of the terminal was effectively doubled, which was then followed by the construction of a car rentals area in 2010, two new gate lounges, expansion of the passenger lounge area, and the addition of new baggage carousels.
