Sydney Airport P3 Car Park Fees

airport-parking-05b0f5-4

If you're soon due to depart from Sydney Airport, you may be considering parking at the Sydney Airport P3 Car Park. P3 is one of Sydney Airport’s official car parks, located near the Domestic Terminals, T2 & T3. It’s a mid-range long stay car park, with fees that are charged on a sliding scale. Although not one of the most affordable options available to domestic travellers, it offers the convenience of being able to walk to departures/arrivals, and the security of undercover parking, safe from the elements. Fractionally less expensive than nearby P1 and P2, the P3 car park offers both online and drive-up tariffs, 24 hour opening times, CCTV and security barriers.

Read on to find out more about the Sydney Airport P3 Car Park, from opening hours to vehicle height restrictions, fees and features. Please note that you cannot reserve a space at this car park through the Flyparks website at present. This can only be done via Sydney Airport Corporation's official website. This guide offers fee information for the purpose of price comparison, as well as a list of alternative parking options.

Sydney Airport P3 Car Park Fees

The P3 Car Park is a midrange parking option, and fees are set accordingly. The car park is fractionally cheaper than nextdoor P1 and P2, and approximately eight minutes by foot from the terminal buildings. Since the car park is a little further from the airport, travellers can look to save around $3.00 to $25.00 compared to the P2 Car Park’s fees, dependent on the length of their stay.

Drive-up fares at P3 start at $9.70 for 15-30 minutes, $19.40 for 30-60 minutes, $27.50 for 1-2 hours, $37.00 for 2-3 hours, and $51.00 for stays of between 3-24 hours. Each additional 24 hour period (or part thereof) comes in at $51.00. The first 0 to 15 minutes of your stay at P3 are free of charge, however it is difficult to drop-off or pick-up passengers in this short period of time. Booking online brings the cost down considerably for long term stays. You can expect to pay around $171.00 for a week (8 days) and $291.00 for a fortnight (15 days). An online quote check for a month long stay in January 2020, reveals a price of $567.00, which works out at $18.29 per day.

In the table above we have also listed the price of off-site Sydney Airport parking, for the purpose of comparison, under “Competitor’s Rate”. If you’re looking to save on the cost of airport parking, you may wish to consider using a private car park that is a little further from Kingsford Smith than P3. Off-site car parks have the advantage of lower rents, so they can offer customers budget prices. These car parks are a great option for stays of three days or more, as they are easily accessible, less than ten minutes from Departures, and have tight, 24/7 security.

If you don’t mind taking a shuttle bus to your terminal, it’s well worth shopping around. Booking your parking online often works out about 40% cheaper than paying airport drive-in prices, and it also means you’re secured a spot, even during busy periods. To get an idea of how much you could save by using a shuttle parking service, simply enter your travel dates into the search bar above. You'll be shown a list of all the available off-site car parks for your planned trip, which you can then filter by tariff, journey time, and customer review score.

Booking P3 Sydney Airport Parking

It’s not possible to book a parking space in P3 on Flyparks at present, but payments can be made through Sydney Airport’s official website. It's advisable to book online over paying drive-up fees, as you can shave a few dollars of the price of parking by making an advance booking. If you opt to book your airport parking online, you can arrive at the P3 Car Park two hours prior to your booked entry time, and depart up to 3 hours after your booked exit time. It’s also worth noting that the first 15 minutes of your stay are free, which makes it possible to pick-up or drop-off passengers at T2 and T3 (very quickly), without paying for parking at the Express or Priority Pickup Zone.

If you'd like to book more affordable parking at an off-site Domestic Airport car park, you can search, compare, and book multiple options with Flyparks. Many of the parking providers we list on our website offer excellent online rates and other incentives such as complimentary shuttle bus services. Travellers have the choice of covered or uncovered parking, budget or premium, and can arrange additional services such as car washing and servicing.

Alternative Car Parks

In the last six months alone, the Sydney Airport Corporation raked in more than $76 million in revenue from its airport car parks and ground transport services. If you've ever had the feeling that your wallet is being gouged when you park at the P3 Car Park, you're not wrong. Thankfully, there are many independent parking providers that are clustered around the Mascot area, which offer significantly better value. And if you're worried about the additional distance, there's no need; free shuttle services come as standard. Flyparks specialises in helping people compare and book private Sydney Airport parking online. If you’re travelling from Terminal 2 or Terminal 3 in the not so distant future, we recommend:

While we’ve made every attempt to report on Sydney Airport car parking prices accurately, prices do fluctuate based on factors such as capacity, how long you intend on parking for, and service type. The quotes featured on this page were calculated in June 2020, for stays in July 2020. Please note that it is not possible to book at the official Sydney Airport car parks with Flyparks. We instead offer a range of alternative car parking options from private service providers.
